Sivorosi Tora Logavatu Bativou is the first in his family to successfully graduate with an Executive Master’s Degree

with honours from the Fiji National University.

After the graduation ceremony last Friday at the FMF Gymnasium, Mr Bativou thanked God for making it possible.

The 47-year-old hails from Vanuaso Village on Gau, Lomaiviti, and has maternal links to Vugalei in Tailevu.

It was not an easy three years for Mr Bativou, but he was willing to sacrifice a lot to finish his studies.

“Some of the challenges were time management against work pressures, family and as well as being chairman of the village council and the district council in Suva was recently appointed the Chairman of the Lomaiviti

Provincial Sports Committee,” Mr Bativou said.

“I wanted to test my potential at the Master’s level after doing my Bachelor’s degree at somewhat in the executive or corporate spectrum. I thank God for the strength and the confidence to complete this Executive Master’s Degree successfully with honours.

“It’s not about accreditation or qualification or popularity, it’s about who fully understood the concepts and principles and being able to apply it accordingly in the Industry is what matters.”

He is doing consultancy work while trying to complete another of his Master’s degree in Management and Public Administration to consolidate other specific areas of the study to manage and develop strategic policies and regulation in any industry.
