Stay safe this festive season, says the Land Transport Authority (LTA).

LTA aims to reduce road accidents during this festive season, says Board chairman Vijay Maharaj.

LTA Board chairman Vijay Maharaj believes the public must take the responsibility of road safety seriously and enjoy the festive season happily with their families and friends.

In its bid to reduce road casualties this festive season, the LTA will conduct its general enforcement of the law to ensure compliance and public safety.

“Our operations will cover e-Ticketing enforcement, overloading, high visibility operations along accident prone areas so that we are able to cover wide range of offences such as drink and drive, careless driving, motor vehicle used contrary to licence permits and licence conditions,” Mr Maharaj said.

LTA will team-up with the Fiji Police Force to enforce the law against drinking and driving.

“It is our humble plea to all drivers and the travelling public to be mindful of road safety at all times,” he said.
