The Unity Fiji General Secretary, who filed an election petition against the FijiFirst Members of Parliament Dr Salik Ram Govind, Alexander O’Connor and Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has been told to advertise a notice of petition in the Fiji Sun and Fiji Times.

The matter was called at the Court of Disputed Returns before judges Justice Anjala Wati and Justice Kamal Kumar yesterday.

The petition was filed on the grounds or irregularities with the conduct, count and tallying results of the 2018 General Election.

The petitioner Satish Kumar was represented by lawyer Jolame Uludole.

The Solicitor General Sharvada Sharma represented the Supervisor of Elections and lawyer Devanesh Sharma was present in court on the instructions of the FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Justice Kumar told the petitioner that the respect of the respondents was not served.

He said to advertise in the newspapers today.

The matter was adjourned for directions to Monday December 17 at 10am.
