Joape Makes Sacrifices, Sets Target And Hits His Mark

Joape Vakawaraiwalu set a target for himself when he was studying for his Year 13 Exams and yesterday he was all smiles when he saw his result.
The 18-year-old hails from Naivicula Village in Wainibuka, Tailevu and has maternal links to Nauluwai Village in Naitasiri.
He is the third oldest of six siblings.
“I sacrificed a lot before my exam and it has really paid off. I sacrificed social media and gave up my phone so that I would not get distracted,” Joape said.
“I set a target and I am glad that I was able to achieve more than that target. I am so happy that no words can describe how I feel.”
Joape said he thank God for his provisions in life.
“I want to thank my parents for being there for me and especially the teachers of Sacred Heart College for their encouragement and my friends for their advice.” he said.
“I plan to do an agriculture course next year because there is no one in our family who is in that field and I plan to be the first one in my family.”
