Witnessing her son’s graduation was something Marica Mulo had long been waiting for.

Sekaia Tawake, 26, graduated from the National Youth Band at the National Youth Band Training Centre in Valelevu on Thursday.

“I am very happy and elated today because my son has not only graduated, but he has also received the Best Overall Trainee award,” said Ms Mulo.

“I did not expect him to win, but through his hard work and dedication, he was able to receive the award.”

Mr Tawake, who hails from Burerua, Sawakasa in Tailevu, said: “I had faced some financial difficulties and times were tough for me and my family to go through.

“I am thankful to my family and friends for helping me achieve this.

“Now, I am looking forward to join the Republic of Fiji Military Forces (RFMF) next year.”
