The Fiji Police Force Community Policing through music programme will begin their festive season awareness programme in the Western Division at Navutulevu Village tomorrow.

Members of the Fiji Police Band and the Western Division Community Policing team are expected to spread the festive joy with a policing twist.

After the completion of the Eastern Division programme on Friday the Police Band will spend this week visiting selected locations in the Western Division.

Director Community Policing SSP Waqa Cavuilati said the week-long programme was expected to be jam packed with visitations planned out from Sigatoka to Nalawa.

“Apart from the villages we will be visiting Treasure Home, Loloma Home, Old Peoples Home in Lautoka and the Band will also squeeze in some quick displays in the city and town areas”.

“So far, the programme in the East and some parts of the South have been successful and while we have been able to achieve our aim of raising awareness on critical issues often encountered during the Festive season, we have also forged new partnerships between the Police and members of the community.”

SSP Cavuilati said the team was looking forward to spreading the festive cheer with a policing twist.

“It’s wonderful seeing children turn up in numbers to watch the band perform and from the awareness perspective it is even greater.”

The band will begin its tour in the villages of Navutulevu, Namatakula, Nadraumai, Semo, Rukurukulevu, Cuvu Naidovi and a quick stop at the Naviti Resort.
