Case Adjourned To Thursday To Fix Hearing Date

In the matter of Unity Fiji Gen­eral Secretary who filed an election petition against the Fi­jiFirst Members of Parliament Dr Salik Ram Govind and Alexander O’Connor and Supervisor of Elec­tions Mohammed Saneem has been adjourned till Thursday.

The matter was called yesterday at the Court of Disputed Returns be­fore Judge Justice Anjala Wati and Judge Justice Kamal Kumar.

The petition was filed on the grounds of irregularities with the conduct, count and tallying results of the 2018 General Election.

The petitioner, Satish Kumar, was represented by lawyer Jolame Ulu­dole.

The Solicitor General, Sharvada Sharma, represented the Supervi­sor of Elections while lawyer Dev­anesh Sharma represented the two members of Parliament and Attor­ney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Solicitor General Sharma said the Supervisor of Elections was ready to file the response and answers by tomorrow.

The court ordered for all the re­spondents in the matter to file their affidavits and responses by 3pm to­morrow.

The matter was adjourned to Thursday for further directions and to fix a hearing date.
