Sai Prema Foundation yesterday threw an early Christmas party for children from Dilkusha Home at TappooCity in Suva.

The children were surprised and happy taking a ride around TappooCity with Santa along with the playground, cakes, a big lunch and surprise gifts.

Sai Prema Foundation medical co-ordinator Dr Krupali Tappoo said Christmas was the joyous time of the year, and it wass about sharing and giving.

“The Sai Prema Foundation under the children of God project, for the past two years has been doing some work with the Dilkusha Home, which included medical checks and camps where we have done medical and dental work with the children,” Dr Krupali said.

“We threw them a Christmas party last year and did so again this year.

“If you think about all of us, we are very fortunate that we have our parents with us, but these children are not with their parents and this is a great time to give back to the community, to give back to these children.”

Dr Krupali highlighted that the Children of God project was where they look after the needs of the children of Dilkusha Home.

“Under the programme, we have more events coming up for these children. Recently we had installed the fans for the children and next we are planning to get mosquito nets for them to keep them healthy,” she said.

“We also found out from the carers and the children of what their needs and are around that we work out how we were going to assist them so the children can have what they need.

“The event is a part of the broader outlook for the Sai Prema Foundation where we look after the needs of these children. This event is a little gesture from the Sai Prema Foundation to the children of Dilkusha Home,” she said.
