Supportive Dad Drives Maopa’s Confidence

Maopa Cirimaiwai took advantage of the two weeks training by the Fiji National University to graduate with her certificate in Food and Beverage at Tacirua Primary School.

With faith and backing from her father, the 15-year-old who hails from Nacavanadi Village in Gau and maternal links to Drawa Village in Vanua Levu, never looked back.

The Dilkusha Methodist High School Year 10 student is now more determined to grab any opportunity to learn new things.

The Gau lass was among the 677 participants who graduated from the Tacirua Sustainable Livelihood Project training offered through Fiji National University.

“I never dreamed that I would be receiving a Certificate in Food and Beverage at the age of 15, but I am glad I did,” Maopa said.

“Attending classes everyday for two weeks was not easy because of financial constraints when it comes to my bus fare. Edited by Percy Kean
