The Duavata Crime Free Christmas Carnival Ended on a high note in Savusavu yesterday.

There were performances from music icons such as Laisa Vulakoro as well as Santa Claus entertaining kids on stage.

Committee chairperson Joseph Wong said that Christmas was all about sharing the message of joy.

He said that the first ever Duavata Carnival was held with the aim to raise funds for the installation of CCTV cameras in Savusavu town.

“We thank everyone for turning out in large numbers to support the carnival,” he said.

While officiating during the closing ceremony, Digicels Area manger Savusavu and Taveuni, Nalini Singh said that Digicel was happy to have partnered with the committee in sponsoring the carnival.

“We are proud to be associated with this carnival,” Ms Singh said.

She also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of Police officers for keeping Savusavu a safer place for everyone this festive season.

Digicel has also come on board to assist the carnival for the next two years.
