A 56-year-old electrician dressed as Santa Claus to bring smiles into the faces of hundreds of children in Savusavu. Pio Naiqama, an electrician by profession said that it was the first time for him to be dressed as Father Christmas.

“I feel so happy to be bringing smiles to a lot of adults and children in Savusavu,” he said.

Mr Naiqama, who is from Naweni Village, was also part of the weekly long Duavata Crime Free Carnival, entertaining children on stage.

“Kids joined me on stage and I also gave them gifts,” he said.

“This was an incredible moment for them as we also had the carnival for the first time in Savusavu,” he said.

Mr Naiqama is also an entertainer and a YouTuber who has released two albums.

“Christmas is all about remaining positive and helping out the less fortunate ones,” he said.

Mr Naiqama, who has immense love for community service, said that being with kids also inspires him.

“This gives me new ideas as they are really a special gift from God,” he said.

Having previously worked for the Fiji Electricity Authority, Fiji Sugar Corporation, Mount Kasi Goldmines and Stridex Surfboards Sydney, his Christmas message for everyone was to spend time with family and loved ones.
