Buca Bay Boxers Sign Deal

Four boxers from the Buca Bay Boxing Club will be participating in the South Pacific Boxing Promotions in February.
Club manager Manoa Raika said boxers Ratu Rakuro Daunivavana, Tevita Sete, Robert Kustel and Vilisoni Tigarea sealed the deal with promoter Mukesh Freddy Chand at Tuatua, Labasa yesterday.
Daunivavana will face Ronald Naidu of Mulomulo Boxing Club in the welterweight title fight on February 9 at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.
In the main event Joseph Kwadjo will face Savenaca Naliva in the light heavyweight contest.
Tigarea, who is a doctor at Labasa Hospital will appear in the supporting bouts.
Chand said this would be the first title fight in 2019.
“Fans are looking forward to seeing Daunivavana, Naidu and Kwadjo in the same programm,” Chand said.
“We travelled from Nadi to Labasa because we don’t want northern boxers to be left out.
“We want to cover the whole of Fiji first then before going out to other countries.
“We planned to have a world title fight here in July.
“I want the people of Fiji to come in big numbers and support Fiji boxing.”
