The Ministry for Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations has approved Ripon Kumar Barral of South Pacific Overseas Services Pty Limited to operate an Employment Agency business for one year effective from 13 December 2018.

The new employment agency went through a rigid screening and authorization application process set out in the Employment Relations (Employment Agencies) Regulations (2008) before they were authorized to operate as an Employment Agency.

The company will be working in areas to explore work for Fijian workers overseas with many potential employers who are interested in engaging Fijian workers.

The company has also been advised of the procedures it needs to comply when sending Fijian workers overseas.

The Employment Ministry further warns that any person who operates an Employment Agency without Authorization shall be guilty of an offence and is liable for a conviction of a fine of not less than $4000 and not more than $10,000 or a term of imprisonment not exceeding 1 year or both.
