Residents, visitors and villagers of Nadi town, who anticipate a street party, will have to organise their respective celebrations to herald in the New Year.

Nadi Town Council special administrator Robin Ali confirmed there was no plan for a New Year’s street party which the people of Nadi always looked forward to.

While the council has nothing planned for ratepayers, villagers and visitors alike all business and social organisations and groups could organise a New Year’s event within the vicinity of the town.

“We have no plan for street party but maybe next year,” Mr Ali said.

“At this moment we are waiting for any organisation to come and organise an event at Koroivolu Park. We have not received any request for hosting of a street party or any other event.”

Mr Ali was impressed with the how the festive season unfolded where people enjoyed the event with their families and friends.

He advised the public of Nadi to enjoy this festive season responsibly and not to drink and drive.
