8 Drugs Related Arrests Made Over The Weekend: Police

A total of 8 successful arrests have been made in the weekend all related to drugs.

Chief Intelligence and Investigation ACP Vakacegu Toduadua outlined the following arrests:

1. Police arrested a suspect in Brown Lane Nausori, with possession of 7 sachets of dried leaves wrapped in brown cover paper believed to be marijuana on Saturday 28th of December 2018

2. Two house search were conducted by Police in the Western Division, firstly in Tomuka, Lautoka where Police found 4 sachets wrapped in aluminium foil and some loose dried leaves believed to be marijuana, and in Wainivula Settlement, Barotu, Ra where officers found one plant believe to be marijuana.

3. Arrests were also made in Martintar Nadi, Shirley Park, Lautoka and Ba Town. In Martintar Nadi, officers arrested a suspect with 18 bullets wrapped in aluminium foil in a clear zip bag believed to be marijuana, and the Shirley Park suspect was arrested and found with a clear plastic containing 17 sachets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

4. While in the Southern Division on Saturday 29th of December at Khalsa road while on motor patrol officers searched a suspected vehicle and arrested two suspects who were found with 7 x clear zip-lock plastic containing clear crystal believed to be methamphetamine in a pink coloured battery operated candle light case on the desk board with 2 smoking apparatus.

All suspects are police custody and drugs have been taken for analysis as police investigation continues.

ACP  Toduadua thanked members of the public for coming forward with information which resulted in the arrests.
