PM Enjoys Quiet New Year With Family

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama enjoyed a quiet New Year celebration with his six children and 15 grandchildren at home in Suva.
He has been resting since his discharge from the hospital following his brief illness.
It’s a deserved rest for Mr Bainimarama who has has had a hectic year – COP23, the General Elections, Opening of New Parliament then back to COP23 and the handover of reins to Poland as COP24 presidency, the Middle East tour that included Fijian peacekeeping missions in Southern Lebanon and the Golan Heights, the meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the election petition case.
It came as no surprise when he became sick after his return home.
He is expected to take a good rest before he resumes official duties.
