Three people were rushed to the Lautoka Hospital after the vehicle they were travelling in veered off the road in Nanukuloa, Saivou, in Ra on January 2.

A statement by Police yesterday reported that the driver of the vehicle, a 20-year-old farmer of Waimicia, Ra, drove to Narau from Rakiraki with two male passengers.

He allegedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to veer of the road and it ended up in the drain.

The driver sustained head injuries, one of the passengers received a spine fracture and the other passenger received minor injuries.

The passenger, who suffered spinal injuries, is still admitted at the Lautoka Hospital. The driver is currently admitted at the Rakiraki hospital.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Police Force wishes to remind drivers to follow the road rules and drive safely.

Pedestrians are also advised to be visible when walking on the side of the road.
