Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Centenary Church to celebrate the life of Reverend Eroni Moce before he was laid to rest at the Lovonilase Cemetery yesterday.

When delivering a eulogy, the late Reverend Moce’s sister Luisa Moce described her brother as a loving man.

“This is supposed to be a time of celebration of his wonderful life and because he has finally stepped over into that other world, that heavenly world which we all hope to make it to someday,” she said.

“This is a celebration.

“We really, really miss you Talatala and we love you but God loves you best.”

On behalf of the St John’s Methodist Church, Park Farm, Allestree, United Kingdom, Lui Turagavou said the congregation there was expecting Reverend Moce.

He said they had even scheduled a meeting on the day Reverend Moce was supposed to have arrived in the UK.

“We thank God for his life.”

Reverend Moce is originally from Nukuloa Village, Gau. He is survived by his wife and three children.

He served the church for 29 years and died at the age of 54.
