This was confirmed by the local shipping companies which include Goundar Shipping Services, South Island Shipping Services, Government Shipping Services and Patterson Brothers Shipping.

Patterson Brothers Shipping Company Limited started its services on Tuesday.

Due to adverse weather Patterson Brothers Shipping Company Limited in a statement said they had three return trips for Natovi to Nabouwalu yesterday.

“Due to backlog, we had three sailings starting from yesterday (Tuesday),” a statement sent by PBSCL read.

It said the sailings were confirmed for all sectors.

“If you have a vehicle ticket for any of the cancelled sailings, please take your tickets over to the main offices so that we can book your vehicle accordingly,” the statement said.

“Passengers that hold tickets for any cancelled sailing can contact the office to confirm their sailing.”

Goundar Shipping Limited (GSL) owner and managing director, George Goundar said they had started their shipping services on Monday.

Mr Goundar said two of his vessels have departed for Rotuma and Vanuabalavu.

Earlier Goundar Shipping Limited had cancelled all its services after the alert for Tropical Cyclone Mona was issued last Friday.

He said trips scheduled to leave at 6pm last Friday were cancelled.

These included trips to Ratuma, Savusavu, Taveuni, Koro, Gau and Vanuabalavu.
