Catering for the needs of two children, let alone, one, is an expensive task. Just ask Kalesi Balak and she’ll tell you.

But thanks to Government’s free education scheme, she and her husband are able to provide more for the needs of their boys.

The Balak family was spotted this week at Meenoo’s prepping the two boys for the new school year.

Ms Balak said: “We don’t spend much on our children’s education because a lot more has been provided by the government.

“Today, we’ve bought them stationery and uniforms.

“We thank the Government for providing free education and that has been a great help to my family.”

Mother of three, Shalini Chand echoed similar sentiments.

She said as parents, they were now more fortunate because during her school days, her parents used to struggle for expenses like bus fares, school fees and text books.
