Toni Kagi wishes that the education opportunities for children nowadays were available when he was going to school.

While shopping for school stationery yesterday, Mr Kagi thanked the Government for easing the burden on parents.

“Nowadays we have less worries on our children’s education because a lot has been done by the Government,” he said. He was expressing the sentiments of many parents.

The father of three said: I just wish that education opportunities like we have these days were available in our day. I always encourage my children of the importance of striving for a better qualification because they have more advantages provided.

“I believe the Government has done a lot to raise the standard of education and there is no excuse if we fail.

“We support our children’s education. We are both working and we have set up our day off just to shop for our children’s stationery.”

He said all parents should ensure that their children were ready for school.

“I believe it is not only the responsibility of the mother to prepare the children’s stationery, Mr Kagi said.

He is a taxi driver for Nasautorotoro Taxi Tours while Mrs Tagi works at Double Tree Resort in Nadi. They live at Korovuto, Nadi.
