What started as a hobby for Nileshni Ram owns has now turned into a business venture

She owns Ram’s Handicraft in Tavua market.

She named it after her late father Babu Ram. The stall has been operational for three years.

Ms Ram has always been attracted to unique creativity so she had planned ways to be able to express them.

“I am very fond of colours and I love creativity especially when it is Christmas time.

“From wall hangings to hair clips, there is something in the design that I find unique and very creative.

“I am never free with my job, I’m always busy, I’m working on something,” she added.

She also creates coffee tables, hair clips, manila folder clips, school banners, wedding and birthday banners, graduation garlands, wall hangings, ornaments and many other items.

“My family is very happy for me with what I do and they support me in every way.

“I just hope this year I would be one of the recipient’s of Government’s Micro and Small Business Grant Scheme.

“This year I aim to be part of the National Women’s Expo so that my handicrafts could be marked Fijian Made.

“This will also help me promote my handicrafts to overseas buyers,” she said.
