FIRST TIME OFFENDER PLEADS GUILTY
Mosese Ratule

A 21-year-old University of the South Pacific (USP) student pleaded guilty at the Labasa magistrate’s court yesterday to drunk and disorderly conduct.

Mosese Ratule appeared before Magistrate Seinileba Levaci and was represented by a Legal Aid Commission lawyer.

The charges were read to Mr Ratule to which he pleaded guilty.

It is alleged that on June 17, 2018 in Lajonia, Ratulele was under the influence of alcohol and was disorderly in the area.

In his mitigation, the court heard that Ratulele was a first-time offender and also a student at USP pursuing studies in Tourism and Management.

Defence counsel also informed the court that Ratulele was truly remorseful for his actions and had also fully co-operated with the Police.

The case has been adjourned to March 4 for sentencing.
