Social Democratic Liberal Party (SODELPA) Member of Parliament Niko Nawaikula’s case has been adjourned to March 27.

The case was called yesterday at the Suva Magistrate’s Court for a plea.

However, it was adjourned to a later date by the court clerk because Magistrate Waleen George was out of the country.

Nawaikula was charged with careless driving and failure to comply with requirements after a motor vehicle accident, which occurred in July 15 last year.

His vehicle allegedly hit the complainant’s vehicle and he allegedly took off without checking for damage.

The complainant chased Nawaikula’s vehicle to the intersection near Fiji Dairy Limited to inform him about the accident.

Nawaikula is representing himself in this case and he is out on bail.

The police prosecutor is Constable Volau Yalimaiwai.
