Japan Tractors toDevelop Rural

New tractors donated by the Government of Japan will be operational soon in the four major divisions to help in the development of rural areas.
The government of Japan has donated four tractors that cost more than $100,000 to the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development in December last year.
Ministry of Rural Development chief mechanic Josevata Liwanacagi said the tractors would be used by the Ministry of Rural Development. The development will cover all rural areas in particular the four divisions in Fiji, the Northern, Central, Eastern and Western Divisions.
“We will be using these tractors to make new roads, improve road conditions, make new air fields and other areas that may need development of infrastructure,” Mr Liwanacagi.
“The ministry has specific places that it wants to develop using these tractors so there is no criteria or applications to be made because we already have a list of the areas that need urgent development.
“I want to thank the people and the Government of Japan for their assistance in donating expensive machines like this to help develop our country and the lives of our people.”
