Princes Road Now Open But Traffic Restricted To One Lane
The landslide at Dilkusha Road.

Fiji Roads Authority (FRA) confirms that Princes Road has reopened, however, traffic is restricted to a single lane under stop and go traffic management.

This is after one major and two minor landslides forced closures along Dilkusha in Nausori yesterday afternoon.

The road was closed to all traffic as debris reached above the carriageway following the heavy rain.

Following a safety assessment, the road has been reopened to a single lane under a 24 hour stop and go arrangement.

Only motorists with “small vehicles” will be allowed to use the single lane.

Buses and trucks are excluded. FRA officials and Police will continue to monitor movements along this area.

Pedestrians are advised to use the “walkway” at Dilkusha Girls School. No one is allowed to walk through the main Dilkusha Road even though it has been cleared by FRA.

Public safety is paramount and FRA have spotters in between and with the slightest movements, we will close the whole road again.

We may need to close the whole road again tomorrow for tree felling by the Ministry of Forestry. This will be communicated to the media.

We thank our contractors and our stakeholders who have worked tirelessly in challenging weather conditions to clear the road safely.
