US Naval Academy offers one place to Fijian Navy

The United States (US) Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, has offered a place for a Fijian naval officer.
This was confirmed by Republic of Fiji Military Forces Navaval Division Commander Captain (Navy) Humphrey Tawake.
Captain (Navy) Tawake said the United States Naval Academy is one of the most prestigious such institutions in the United States of America (USA).
He said they were going through the selection process and a name would be announced soon.
According to a release from the academy it is available for everyone. “The students don’t have to pay anything, as the tuition is free,” the release said.
The offer was made by Admiral Phil Davidson, the 25th Commander of United States Pacific Command, when he visited Fiji on August 16, 2018.
He said there was also an offer from the United States Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) in New London, Connecticut. According to a release from the Academy it is the smallest of the five federal service academies and provides education to future Coast Guard officers in one of nine major fields of study. This is a four year course.
Once they received the offer, Captain (Navy) Tawake said they would start the selection process.
