All players are injury free and that includes Paula Dranisinukula, says Fiji Airways Fijian 7s head coach Gareth Baber.

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, Baber said there is a high level of energy and intensity among the players in camp as they look forward to their pool opener against Wales on Saturday.

“We were feeling a bit of fatigue after our 3-hour flight,” he said.

“But the players have recovered well from the travelling and we hit the field a few hours later and followed it up with a recovery pool session.

“We’re making sure that the players are eating, drinking correctly and getting enough sleep which is very important to get them in the rhythm.”

Baber said they had a warm-up match against Canada on Tuesday and it was great to see the Canadians having a structured style of play which is similar to how Wales and Australia play.

“They tested us with that element of the game and I was glad to see the boys running into them very quickly. We focused on the scrimmaging session and we were pleased and satisfied with what we got out of it.”

Baber also confirmed that today he is going to name the 12 players that are going to play this weekend.
