A man charged with one count of unlawful cultivation of illicit drugs pleaded not guilty before High Court Judge, Justice Thushara Rajasinghe, in Suva.
Malakai Bola Smith, allegedly cultivated 283 plants of marijuana, weighing 16 kilograms, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Smith was represented by Jarry Dinati from Lal Patel Bale Law firm.
The alleged offence took place on June 10, 2018, in Kadavu,
The accused will appear in High Court on February 21 for mention.
