Police: Two Men Arrested In Relation To Drug Case

Two men were arrested in relation to drug find on Koro Island in the past two days.

One a 27 year old man allegedly found with 1.3 grams of dried leaves believed to be marijuana and a 30 year old man allegedly found with a green plant weighing 738.1grams believed to be marijuana.

On another incident on Malolo Island one 46 year old man was also arrested yesterday after he was found in possession of 16 plants believed to be marijuana wrapped in a black plastic whilst a 23 year old man was allegedly found with 34 sachets of dried leaves suspected to be marijuana.

In the North Division a 36 year old farmer of Qelewaqa was allegedly found with a clear plastic bag containing dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

Meanwhile the drugs related arrested were also made in the Western Division, uprooting of 1050 green plants in Keyasi and all plants suspected to be marijuana.

The uprooted plants were ranging from 22cm – 210cm while the owner of the farm yet to be located as investigation continue in the matter.

Furthermore in Sigatoka Police conducted stop and search of vehicles when a vehicle was allegedly found with 8 x clear ice block plastic containing dried leaves suspected to be marijuana with total cash of $115.45.

In Ba two man were arrest by police yesterday, one was a 36 year old market vendor allegedly found with 89 bullets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana which was wrapped in aluminum foil and packed in a black Adidas bag and a 29 year old farmer of Vadravadra village, Ba allegedly found with 1 roll of dried leaves wrapped in zig-zag paper suspected to be marijuana.

Police also searched a taxi and allegedly found 1 x green scale, 1 x packet of zigzag, 1 x clear plastic containing crystals and 1 x clear plastic containing white powder.

All suspects in police custody and drugs sent to be analysis as police investigation continue.
