Canadian Fijians are urged to fundraise for the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team ahead of the Vancouver Sevens in March.

Petaia Usakilakeba, who is heading the February 22, dinner and dance for Fiji 7s team, is calling out fervent sevens fans to support them by purchasing a $35 ticket for the fun- filled night.

“Every dollar raised during the dinner night will go towards the players,” he said.

Usakilakeba says Fijians have made the biggest backdrop at the BC Place Stadium in the last three years’ running of the World Sevens Series and as fans they’re proud of their sporting identity.

“We are all proud about our national sport, sevens rugby is what has given us Fijians the sporting identity.

“A little cash in hand will go a long way for the men who continue to give us all the more reason to converge at BC Place Stadium in March.

“It’s more of an appreciation gift when they are in Vancouver.”

Usakilakeba said he is expecting a sellout for the event that is billeted for the Khanna Banquet Hall in Surrey.

“Come tuck in, dance to the tune of great music and enjoy the night the Fijian style.

“Help us help the players with our kind monetary gift,” he said.
