Nadi Coach Proud Of Young Players

They’ve made a lot of people proud – Nadi coach Pranesh Amarsee
The Nadi football side edged out Tavua 2-1 during their Vodafone Premier League clash at Garvey Park, Tavua yesterday.
What happened: Despite the slight drizzle, this failed to dampen the two teams as they went out looking to score the early goals.
Nadi’s Rahul Krishna drew first blood in the 29th minute as they led 1-0 at halftime.
The hosts struck early in the second spell when Tazul Khan slotted in the equaliser.
But this woke up the Nadi side as they replied in the 74th minute when Jeshal Kumar scored their second goal.
Comments: Nadi coach, Pranesh Amarsee said: “We fielded a very young team as half of the boys are still in school. If you look at it, the average age in the team is around 19 or 20 so more than half of the boys have played for Nadi for the first time.
“They’ve made a lot of people proud and looking ahead we really have to work very hard because we got very tough opponents coming up.”
He said the boys needed more game time, which was vital for any team.
“After this we will be going back to training, we’ll be training on our weaknesses and just prepare for the next game.”
Tavua’s team manager, Rajneel Ram said: “Last week after our 6–0 loss to Lautoka, we got our act together. We lost some of our players to other districts but we brought in our local boys.
“Last week, we didn’t have any ground for training, we just trained for a few hours because most of our people are working and I hope this week the Tavua Town Council can give us a good ground.”
