Faith, Sacrifice Key: Nacuqu

Votua, Ba man Waisea Nacuqu said it was the team’s faith in the Lord and humbleness which enabled them to defend the Hamilton 7s trouncing USA 38-0 in the final on Sunday.
Speaking to SUNsports from Hamilton yesterday Nacuqu said; “We were fit and knew the victory will come our way because we dedicate our lives to God.
“He was the source of our strength and winning in Hamilton was the reward of our sacrifice which started during off–season until the sevens series started,” Nacuqu said.
He said working on their Daily Training Environment(DTE) and running on the sand dunes assisted in maintaining their body shape.
“Our off-season programme really helped us and the team bonding that kept us together was definitely a plus.,” Nacuqu added.
The flying Fijians dazzled fans in the final and everyone in attendance at a sold out FMG Stadium.
Fijians are pooled with Samoa, England and Japan in Pool A for this weekend Sydney 7s.
