The Nasinu Rugby Football Union sealed a sponsorship deal with Ram Sami and Son’s Fiji Limited and Wallson Foods Limited on their sevens tournament to be staged on March 29-30 at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

NRFU official Paula Biu said the tournament will be now known as the Ram Sami Nasinu 7s.

“The Nasinu Rugby Football Union is privileged to be partnering again with Ram Sami for this year’s event,” the former Flying Fijian prop said.

“Details of the tournament and method of payment will be released on our Facebook page together with the entry fees.”

During the presentation yesterday Ram Sami managing director Prashneel Sami Goundar said, they are proud to be associated with NRFU in its aspiration of meeting or fulfilling its vision which is ‘Life through rugby’ – seeking to use and promote rugby as a means to an end, to bring about desired changes in youths and community life in Nasinu.

“This year we are privileged to be partnering with Nasinu Rugby again in the fight against Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs),” he said.

“This is a major issue faced by our communities and country as a whole. In that we’re proud to be sponsoring the Ram Sami Nasinu 7s- with the times of fighting NCDs through rugby.”

Goundar also announced that this year for the first time, they’ll be having an Under-19 division in anticipation of the community youths and school teams who want to be part of the fight against NCDs.

“We invite you all to be part of Ram Sami Nasinu 7s efforts in the fight against NCDs,” he added.
