Experienced Reps To Boost Fijiana 7s
The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side are one of the most experienced teams in this weekend’s Sydney 7s.
The return of former captain Ana Maria Roqica, utility player and now captain Rusila Nagasau along with Lavenia Tinai have further strengthened the side.
Head coach Saiasi Fuli on his first Series assignment has opted to keep a low profile indicating they would be aiming for a Cup quarterfinal spot.
“Anything after that would be a bonus,” he said.
Today, Roqica plays in her 26th series tournament while Nagasau on her 22nd and Tinai makes it her 19th.
Asinate Savu is the team’s top points’ scorer with 288 followed by Tinai at 260, Lusia Tisolo at 206 with Nagasau at 163.
Making their debut for the Fijiana 7s side are Akanisi Sokoiwasa and Tokasa Seniyasi.
The women’s competition starts today and New Zealand have won the opening two rounds of the season in Glendale and Dubai to sit top of the standings.
