Student Heads: Things Can Be Achieved As a Team

A strong team spirit will improve discipline and academic standards was the key message from the newly-elected head boy and head girl of Nadi Muslim College.
Saadiq Abdul and Amisha Kumar were badged on Friday at the school among the student body prefects.
Head boy Saadiq said: “I have fulfilled my father’s dream. He passed away two years ago and I really miss him. Even though he is not here today but deep down in my heart I know that he must be proud of me.
“There is a big task ahead of me and I know it is possible. So, team work should be the cornerstone.
“To me teamwork is like a tool set. Not one tool can do all the jobs, but together they can,” he said.
He urged the school and the students to work with team spirit.
Abdul aims to become an aircraft engineer.
“I am really happy to be appointed as the head girl of the school. Regardless of many other students and I am honoured for this opportunity,” Amisha said.
“In Year 11, I was given a huge opportunity to be an assistant head girl of the school.
“The assistant principal with the prefects promoted me and I was appointed as deputy head girl last year. This year I am honoured to be given this role.
“I know I have a big responsibility ahead of me but I will do my best for the betterment of the school. We have an exceptional team of teachers who motivate and inspire us daily.
“Also, we have a strong team of student council members this year who I believe will improve the discipline and academic standard this year,” she said.
Amisha aims to study Radiology in FNU after Year 13. Her interest is in imagery science.
