Proud Parents Celebrate With School

- The Ahmeds said this was a way to show their appreciation to the teachers and students of the school for supporting their son.
Proud parents Faiyaz and Nazia Ahmed were so excited for the son’s academic achievement last year, they chose to celebrate it with his school.
Their eldest son, Faazil Ahmed, scored the highest mark for Nasinu Muslim College in the Fiji Year 10 Examinations last year.
The couple organised lunch for all staff and students of the school yesterday.
Faazil had scored an aggregate mark of 559/600 in the Fiji Year 10 Examinations.
“I am the proudest and happiest father right now,” said Mr Ahmed.
“The day he was sitting for the examination, I thought to myself that if he scores the highest, I will celebrate it with the entire school.”
Mr Ahmed said this was a way to show his appreciation to the teachers and students of the school for supporting Faazil.
“I would like to thank the teachers who worked tirelessly with Faazil,” he said.
“Some of his teachers used to come after hours to give tuition and his friends and classmates supported him during the difficult days.
“So this was a time to celebrate all of their efforts.”
Meanwhile, Faazil said he was happy that all his sacrifices were worth it.
“I am grateful for everything, especially my parents, teachers and colleagues for their support,” he said.
“My greatest motivation is the faith that my parents have in me and I always try my best to make them proud.
“I have to keep continuing the hard work so I can maintain my marks in the forthcoming external examinations.”
