Water Authority of Fiji Board Sets Record Straight On Submissions

The Board of Water Authority of Fiji refers to an article in the Fiji Sun on February 6, 2019, by Neelam Prasad.

The article relates to a presentation made by certain employees of WAF to the Standing Committee on Justice Law and Human Rights on the Code of Conduct Bill No. 2 of 2018.

Certain comments and representations are attributed to Akosita Matakaca and Vilisoni Tuicolo, who are part of WAF’s Legal Section.

The Board of WAF wishes to put it on record that the comments made by Ms Matakaca and Mr Tuicolo were their personal opinions and views.

The Board of WAF does not endorse the repeal or removal of part six of the Code of Conduct Bill.

Any legislation or other initiative that is taken to enhance the standards of the public service is welcomed by WAF.

WAF has put in place strict measures and procedures to deal with any corrupt practices at its workplace.

WAF has a zero tolerance policy on such practices.

The Board of WAF will submit its full views and submissions on the Code of Conduct Bill after all members of the Board have been fully briefed and consulted on the same.
