Lautoka Central: Head Boy Praises Dad For Upbringing

Newly-inducted Lautoka Central College head boy Prashant Dhirendra Bijay attributes his achievement to his single father who raised him from the age of seven.
During the prefect induction ceremony yesterday, Prashant was filled with happiness and was all smiles when his name was announced as head prefect of the school.
When his late mum died because of cancer, he was left with his father, Dhirendra Bijay, to raise him.
“I feel very proud to be inducted as the head boy, but there is more joy because I have made my father proud,” he said.
His definition for qualities needed in a leader is summed in three words: humility, unity and conduct.
Prashant understands that the role of a head boy is challenging, but he is positive of facing all hurdles that will come his way.
“No task is impossible when you put your mind to it, “ he said.
“No matter who you are or where you come from, one must be humble.
Head girl, Kajal Karishma, raised similar sentiments.
“Try to be approachable and try to be the most humble person in your community,” she said.
“It is an honour to be named head girl.
“This role comes with responsibility, but I believes it has made my parents, friends and teachers proud.”
Kajal hopes her humble personality will inspire people around her.
