Not only is Saanjali Ashpreet a first-born in her family, she is also the first sibling in the family to be appointed head girl of a secondary school.

Overwhelmed with the appointment and badging last week during the Xavier College prefects’ induction ceremony, Saanjali looks forward to the challenges ahead.

“I know there is a lot of pressure and I am aware of the responsibilities that will come my way; the expectations of the teachers, but equally good, because I have seen my role models come through the same way and it is a wonderful experience,” she said.

Her parents were equally excited and happy about the news.

The feeling was similar for head boy, Aniket Krishna, who is also the first in the family to be bestowed the honour.

“It will be challenging to score high marks and to perform the duties of a head boy, but I am positive for the challenge,” Aniket said. He aspires to be an aircraft engineer.

The school is also known for producing high results in the national exams.
