Narayan Tells Of Passion For Fashion

A 19-year-old model of Suva encouraged newcomers in the modelling industry to have a passion for fashion.
Tera Narayan, who is currently pursuing her double majors in International Marketing and Sociology from the University of the South Pacific, began her career in modelling last year.
She had worked in various photoshoots and modelling assignments for brands such as Samson Lee, Jadeine Whiteside, Hupfeld Hoerder, Pacific Islands Art (PIA), and modelled at the Bayleys Fiji Show in Nadi as well.
Ms Narayan said her motivation to join the modelling industry were her friends who pushed and encouraged her.
“I love fashion. I love dressing up and I am developing my interest as I go. I never knew I would come this far in the modelling career.
“The first time I modelled, it was very interesting and beyond my expectation. I started to like modelling and that is where my interest grew.
“I modelled for Fijian Fashion Festival and Style Fiji. I also did a few photoshoots and modelling shows in between. Modelling was a new experience for me as no one in my family or siblings had done this. It helped me grow my confidence and I learnt a lot from being a part of the festival,” Ms Narayan said.
She said the modelling career for her had been a very exciting one with a whole new experience and atmosphere.
“For newcomers I would like to encourage them to take part and give it a go. They should have a passion for fashion,” Ms Narayan said.
