Leaders are people who set benchmarks and try to achieve those standards by allowing others to judge them according to their actions and endeavours.

The Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Rosy Akbar raised these sentiments as chief guest during the Tilak High School’s prefect Induction ceremony on Friday.

Ms Akbar further inspired the school prefects to be effective leaders who communicate with impact and lead a life of service.

A leader is someone who shows the way to his fellow students and leads the way humbly. This was the definition of a leader for the newly inducted head boy Ravikaash Divnesh Rajan.

Ravikaash, who aspires to become a chartered accountant one day is also positive as he looks forward to lead the school’s student council.

Palvi Dewan, who was appointed as the head girl was overwhelmed.

Palvi aspires to become a medical doctor someday.

“This school has a thousand plus students so it will be challenging and I will have to make prompt and right decisions,” Palvi said.

“A leader is someone who will show the right path and not force people.”
