2 Arrested In Vanua Levu For Alleged Possession of Illicit Drugs

Two men are currently in Police custody after they were allegedly found in possession of illicit drugs in Vanua Levu.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said a 35-year-old man of Savusavu was arrested after a search was conducted in Savusavu town on Sunday which resulted in the discovery of a clear plastic containing six bullets of dried leaves believed to be marijuana.

“The package was allegedly hidden inside his trousers,” Ms Naisoro said.

“The leaves have been sent for analysis.”

“The second case recorded also on Sunday resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old farmer after he was found in possession of eight green branches believed to be marijuana inside a plastic bag,” she said.

“Both suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.”
