Telecom Fiji Supports Disability Awards

Telecom Fiji Limited has pledged $5000 for the United Blind Persons of Fiji organised first Disability Gala Awards recognition event.
This is an initiative by the United Blind Persons of Fiji which made a commitment to host an Annual Disability Gala Awards in its efforts to encourage and reward people living with disability in Fiji.
Through the awards, the organisation would partner with the private sector to raise awareness among the nation’s disabled persons of the critical role that professionals and entrepreneurs play in nation building.
“We are sponsoring the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and we chose it because it’s so fitting with our business,” Telecom Fiji Limited Business sales retail, products and marketing general manager, Joseph Naua, said.
“This sponsorship is our corporate social responsibility and we see it as an opportune time to support organisations such as United Blind Persons of Fiji because it falls in line with our theme which is sharing happiness and empowering people.
“These are people who have less opportunity and don’t have access to a lot of things like us. It is important we do everything we can to give them a chance to become self-supporting people and contribute to society.”
