Newly appointed head girl Annielissa Yaco believes with team work, discipline can be maintained at Dilkusha Girls School in Nausori.

The 13-year-old hails from Tovu Village in Totoya, Lau and has maternal links to Malahaha Village in Rotuma.

Annielissa said she did not expect to be named the head girl for the school.

“I am excited about this new role and with the help of the deputies we will ensure to maintain discipline throughout the year,” Annielissa said.

“I believe I have a team that can take the school to another level. I will do my best to set an example for others.

“I want to thank my teachers and parents for believing in me. My parents have been my greatest inspiration and I hope to continue making them proud.”

Deputy head girl, Ro Miriama Kaibau hopes to become the school head girl next year.

“I will work with the head girl to ensure discipline is maintained. I will learn everything from her and try to do my best,” the Year Seven student said.

“I am first in the family to be named a deputy head girl for a school. I plan to work hard and do my best. This is just the beginning of another chapter in my life.”
