WOWS Kids Fiji received a timely boost of $35,000 following a cheque presentation at Parliament House on Wednesday.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama presented the cheque to WOWS team leader Viola Lesi who thanked Mr Bainimarama for brokering the relationship between them and the Fiji Day organising committee in Sydney, Australia, last year.

The money was raised in Sydney during a fundraising dinner organised by Allen Gock and his wife, Luisa.

Ms Lesi acknowledged the PM for continuing to champion child cancer care and awareness in Fiji.

“This raises the profile for WOWS Kids Fiji because what we want to get out is a bit more awareness on the early signs of childhood cancer,” she said.

“Saving children is the essence of saving the future of Fiji.

“I also want to thank Mr Allen Gock and Mrs Luisa Gock and their committee for the generosity with their time and resources.”
