Laura Bulisovasova was named head girl and Makasie Faktaufon as head boy during the Suva Grammar School annual prefect induction yesterday.

With the able support from teachers and senior students the two head prefects are confident and all geared up to perform up to expectation and take the school to another level.

Makasie said, it was a privilege and an honour to be chosen as the head boy of the premier school.

“I have a lot of things to achieve for the school. The responsibility is on my shoulder and I hope to carry it all out to the best of my abilities,” he said.

“My aim this year is to propel Suva Grammar School to greater heights,” he said.

The 18-year-old aims to study mechanical engineering at the University of the South Pacific after Year 13.

Head girl, Laura is grateful as well for the opportunity that has been given to her to lead the student council and students of the school.

“It is a challenging task, but I hope to perform to the best of my abilities,” she said.

“My plan for the year is to help maintain discipline and encourage students to think big and outside of the box.”

She aims to further her studies at the USP and become a Geologist.

There are 112 form captains, 28 student council representatives, 64 school prefects and 10 deputies.
