Verata won the 2019 Queen Victoria Schools interhouse athletics competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.

The athletes in blue collected 16 gold, 16 silvers and 16 bronze medals, Bau second (14 gold, 11 silvers ,14 bronze), Rewa third (11 gold ,13 silvers, 12 bronze) and Tovata fourth (10 gold, 11 silvers ,11 bronze medals).

Speaking to SUNsports yesterday, school principal Qalo Lesi said they are keeping a low profile and focused more on improving their ranking in the Coca-Cola Games in April.

“We are fortunate to have the competition at the ANZ Stadium which will allow athletes to get used to the tracks,” Lesi said

“We are not setting a high target for the zone and Coca-Cola Games as we are more focused towards rebuilding our squad and improving our ranking.

“We are trying to climb up slowly from where we left last year where we won five gold medals.
