Hawke’s Bay Fijians won the Waipukarau 7s tourney defeating Havelock North 14-12 over the weekend.
It’s the first Fijian team to win the tourney and manager Ratu Ravuso Rayasidamu was impressed the performance.
“Most of these players came to New Zealand to study and we gathered them together to form our sevens team and we are proud of how they performed.
“We are proud of their achievement being the first Fijian team to win the tournament.
“I told the boys to just play the Fijian way of rugby which they did.”
