Sabeto Driver Charged For Unlawful Possession Of Illicit Drugs

A 39-year-old driver of Sabeto, Nadi was remanded by the Nadi Magistrate Court charged for unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

The accused, Roneel Kumar appeared before Magistrate Peni Dalituicama charged for two counts of unlawful possession of illicit drugs.

The accused was represented by defence lawyer Mun Sami Chetty of SS Law, while Police prosecutor Inspector Parmesh Chand represented the State.

The court heard on February 18 in Nadi, without lawful authority, Kumar had in his possession 4.82 grams of methamphetamine, an illicit drug.
On the same day, the accused was found without lawful authority has in his possession 60.3grams of marijuana.

Mr Chetty made a moral bail application. Inspector Chand immediately objected to bail.
Inspector Chand told the court, that the matter is of public interest.

Magistrate Dalituicama remanded the accused at the Natabua Corrections Facility and adjourned bail ruling until March 6.
